Traditional Entertaining Performing Arts
Here we present traditional popular Japanese entertainment – spectacular performances that are mainly acted in festivals and performed people with acrobatic skills that require years of training. The roots of these performances date back to ancient Arabic and Asian cultures introduced into Japan through the Silk Road and China 800 years ago.
Festival music and performance : songs and music by a flute and drums, comical dances with a mask, celebration for the audience – all essential elements to Japanese festivals.
Shishi-mai (lion dance) : a dancer moves around the stage with a big mask of a lion in celebration.
Traditional magic : different from Western magic, traditional Japanese magicians mainly show their refind movement skills, not trics.
